Canada Announces New Funding Opportunities for Skilled-Trades Training

During the reporting period, federal funding programmes continued to offer support for apprenticeship development and industry training. The Union Training and Innovation Program provides up to C$5 million per fiscal year per project, with a maximum of C$25 million, to strengthen apprenticeship opportunities, training quality and workforce skills across Red Seal trades. The funding creates opportunities for employers, training institutions and workforce-development organisations to expand technical education and recruitment pipelines. HPC can support employers with workforce forecasting, skills-gap analytics, payroll systems and digital employee-training platforms.
